During military funerals in the United States of America, a bugle call called “Taps” is played during the ceremony. It is played by a single bugle or trumpet right at the moment or in some ceremonies, a recorded one is being played. The “taps” tune is also called as the “Butterfly’s Lullaby, or by its first lyric line, “Day Is Gone”.

In this video in a cemetery in Arlington, VA, “Taps” was played by two soldiers. The one who played during the summer is  SSG Jesse Tubb and the one who played during the winter is SSG Drew Fremder. They are doing this to honor fallen soldiers of the US. Watch the whole video until the end to hear the touching tune of this last music played for the dead military who fought in honor of the state. Have you attended a military funeral in person? Was “Taps” played during the ceremony?
